| Re: Favorite album? Gosh! I am so glad to find I'm not the only one obsessed with The Pink Floyd.
I cannot claim to have been into the Floyd for three decades - just over two really - but A Nice Pair were my first experience of their music.
In 1980, I discovered felloe fans who liked to listen in the same way as myself and since then I haven't looked back. An Air Force buddy and I listened to DSOTM 8 times consecutively while witnessing my Bull snake's failed attempts at consuming a larger-than-manageable rat.
DSOTM is, in my opinion, their greatest effort, even though one must agree that WYWH is, as a concept album, far superior. (BTW, there are universities in the North of England whose music classes analyse the exceptionally long intro to Shine on the WYWH album.) What better tribute could Syd have been given by his former band?
Anyway, there are just too many very good albums to choose from for a single favourite, so I shall have to stick my neck out and say WYWH, DSOTM, Meddle, The Wall in that order.
Floyd on!
