Keep in mind that Roger felt a lot of these emotions himself. Now I'm not saying he wanted to control people or that he's is racist or anything like that, but The Wall was essentially Roger pulling a Brian Wilson. It was his sentiments of retracting from rock stardom. But, as usual, Roger has a wonderful play on words, and creates a character to embody his ideas. On top of that, I don't think Roger came up with the idea for The Wall (movie). Didn't the director come to him with the idea, and that's when he became involved? So that might explain some things like the concert and whatnot.
