I can definitely understand why those two didn't get on. They are personality opposites.

I have been in a situation where I met MY opposite. Being the more sensitive, introverted person, I found it almost impossible to speak when this person was in the room, as things built up. I felt a bad presence, almost like this person RADIATED it. This other person apparently saw me as an unknowable black hole that took in everything but returned nothing.

I cannot even begin to explain how bad it was for me when I finally realised that being gracious and staying out of this person's way wasn't going to work. Everything I did--being polite, keeping quiet--simply misread. And I think some of the stuff this person did...overt, loud door-slamming, mean looks and words, things like that...those obviously did not go over well with me. Every interaction only made this pattern worse.

Finally I HAD to do something. I cannot begin to tell you how difficult it was to get myself to actually open my mouth and SPEAK to this person, and TELL them everything that was bothering me! And I kept talking the whole time this was happening, or listening...but would you believe I started to pass out? I almost DID. I actually went numb all over my body and could not see; it was so bad.

But the good thing was...the two of us worked out our problems.

I can imagine what Mr. Wright went through. I wonder if he would actually understand me if I told him about this episode...
