| Re: Roger Live! Gotta admit,
the Roger gig really was something else. The showmanship and the level of musical talent on display actually surpassed all my expectations. There was a point during, I think, 'Time' where I literally couldn't stop myself from jumping up and giving it a bit of the old 'Radio GaGa'.
The lengthy synth sequence during 'Dogs' was somewhat lightened by Roger and the rest of the band sitting down at a table and indulging in a spot of gambling and at least to myself and Driven, apeared to be something of a pop at R*** W***** and his terminally dull noodlings. Obviously, it may just have been for entertainment's sake. Who knows?
Quite impressed with the set list also. I'd originally asked Driven to prompt me with names of all the solo Roger tracks, but thankfully, there weren't too many of those (only kidding Pete!) and a shit load of Golden Period standards including the entire WYWH album (minus 'Have a cigar'), 5 tracks off of DSOTM (nice visuals during 'Money':Tits and that), Dogs (which was absolutely brilliant), a loungey version of STCFTHOTS (complete with acoustic Rogering and sax), some stuff off of the Wall to start off the gig and a few bits and pieces. The visuals worked really well and for a scaled down show presented a eminently more thrilling concept than the cup noodle Floyd that F** D*** appears at the front of.
I dug.
Cheers,
Mark
