Re: Bootlegs ruined my appreciation of 'Animals'

I know that many people LOVE bootlegs and really get a kick out of listening to live or different versions of songs. I still think that 'sometimes' they MAY ruin the appreciation of the original piece.

I know I'm probably gonna get bashed by ROIO lovers but I really think that the original studio recordings have a bigger value, both artistically and musically because this is how the band wanted the song to be like after 'looong hours of planning and group contributions'. I know that sometimes live performances capture more 'feeling', maybe sometimes a spark or a bit of magic.

BUT, to me 'raving and drooling' and 'you gotta be crazy' KINDA-SORTA ruined my 'personal appreciation' of sheep and dogs. Man how I used to relax and listen to those songs... then I got pissed off when I listened to those ROIO's a couple of times, and then listened to animals again and found that I began drawing similarities, even comparing them, and they are not THAT disimilar. So, basically I can't sit down and listen to 'Animals' like I used to, a kidn of nostalgia kicks in when I remember how I used to fell. I still LOOOVE it, but, it's different.

Don't get me wrong, I love bootlegs, live recordings, rare versions, etc. But every once in a while your 'appreciation' changes (Sometimes in a good way) toward the worst.

Would like to hear what you guys think, Thanks!
