| Re: Synchronicity sorry about all this, but there is alot and I want you to be informed:
Where was I, oh right...Dorothy opens the door to find Munchkinland (just as the change begins on Money) The first side of Dark Side is actually the exact lenght of the black and white portion of the film. She begins to walk with the bass line chiming in. The lyrics "Don't give me that do-goody-good bullshit" sound as the Good witch Glinda enters...some rumor that when she hold her wand it looks like she's changing chords on a guitar. But, the Munchkins seem to dance with the beat of Money and likewise march to it. One of the midgits seem to say "I don't know I was really drunk at the time" when speaking with the Mayor of Munchkinland. Us and Them starts roughly around the same time when the Death Certificate is presented "Us, us, us, us, and them, them, them, them" welcome the Lullaby League, and the "Me, me, etc..." ushers the Lollypop guild.
"Black and Blue" Enter Wicked With, pan to Dorothy (the second time), "And who knows which is which (witch is witch?) and who who is who" as they two witches share frame, and then "Up, up, etc..." the witch has her broom elevated "Down, etc..." she searches for the Ruby slippers "It's just Round and Round, and round" Dorothy displays her new slippers. "There's room for you inside, said the man with the gun" the which points like a gun.
"Down and out" exuents the Good witch. Then cut the exact change into Brain Damage (song number "If I only had a brain") as Dorothy encounters the Scarecrow, "The Lunatic is on the grass" as Scarecrow dances on the Yellow Brick Road with the green patch in the background. "The paper boy brins more" as scarecrow shift his hay stomach...the kind of scattered drums, i think, represent the scarecrow's fumbling steps.
Cut to the scene with the alive trees throwing apple, Tinman's foot appears as laughter chimes in, and "Evertying you eat" or it might "all that you taste" as dorothy reaches for the oil can. And the album fades with Dorothy beating on Tin's chest.
There have been other theories about what to follow the album or also when to start it, but I believe it all to be crap beyond the first cycle of DSoTM. But, if you'd like you can try them. Start Dark Side after either the first, or second, or third roar of the MGM lion or even the third roar of The Cowardly Lion. After dark Side ends, repeat the album (I found the songs kind of match, particularly Tin Man's dance, and when they exit the field into Emerald City "Calls the faithful to their knees" when they stumble through the flowers) which would express the perpetualness of the album. Or follow with Animals, then Meddle (programmed tracks 2-5 ending on "Seamus" with a country-bluegrass sounding background to when Dorothy returns to Kansas") or follow with Wish You Were Here, then nothing, or follow with Animals, then Disc one of The Wall.
Eh, for what's it worth. Sorry was so long
Love from the Underside, and a very good night,
