They are both excellent guitarists, but so different that a comparison is not worth it. Jimmy Page is a very 'sloppy' guitarist. Thats his style, and if you ever hear the BBC sessions, ots mre evident. I dont use sloppy as an insult, its just looser. I heppen to like David Gilmour's better, because his solos, and music is very focused, but he still can jam, and do whatever he likes. Jimmy Page does not have a focused approach like that.
