That's the "Household Objects" album project. Nothing actually surfaced of those experiments except for some tiny glass sound you can now hear at the beginning of Shine On. At the end of the day the band apparently did not see the point of making a rubber band sound exactly like a bass, when you can just play a real bass guitar with the same result.
