Well... the MFSL and SACD versions basically ARE the masters. And they did use a "pre-master" mix of Shine On You Crazy Diamond for the original Echoes.

On another topic, have you noticed that every time "When The Tigers Broke Free" has seen release, it was mixed differently? Try listening to the old VHS of the Wall movie, the DVD, the 7" single version, the Echoes version, and the new Final Cut version. Count the number of snare drum rolls in each one.

Yikes. And which is the best? I like the newest one (Final Cut) myself.
