Re: Are Pink Floyd the greatest?

Just a little bit of over-analysis there...

Also, saying the beatles only had 20 classic songs is stupid. If you're going in terms of songs which are equal to or better than that list of floyd tracks you put up we're talking 100s...

which brings me to why most of them and not shine on? It's far more famous, and loved, than the majority of the songs on that list. it was one of the first pink floyd songs I heard and it didn't take a lot for me to like it. Of course I had to push myself to get through some of the quieter moments but on the second listen I didn't have any problem with the 'dreary' keyboard parts. And to describe the guitar on that record similarly is a little missing the point...

God, I feel mean..

Also, yeah, I could see one or two of the faces on that photo but you've just outlined nothing in most of them, surely...? Like the ones which are totally black? Or is that just you being politically correct...?

Anyway, good job on the rest of it and apart from some of the songs on your list that will appeal to all generations or whatever, you obviously spent a lot of time on this doing your best, with good results.

btw, all art is subjective so that list of songs to appeal to all doesn't quite work, at least not with me...
