a lot of it is fun...a lot is a dig at other acts....a lot is spiritual...and the rest opinion and fact.

a mixed bag....I also mean classic because of excellence not because it's well known...like Yellow submarine etc.

but even a 100 Beatles songs would struggle to pass 246 minutes of music!!!!!

that's were you have to decide!!!! can you say The Beatles have performed a 100 songs that sound fantastic to 80% of a random audience???

which brings me to why most of them and not shine on? It's far more famous, and loved, than the majority of the songs on that list. it was one of the first pink floyd songs I heard and it didn't take a lot for me to like it. Of course I had to push myself to get through some of the quieter moments but on the second listen I didn't have any problem with the 'dreary' keyboard parts. And to describe the guitar on that record similarly is a little missing the point...

Yes I did "try" to be objective and the ommision of Shine on was soul destroying....symbolically it's one of Floyd's finest...but as a melodic experience....for me and many others especially non-Floyd fans, it's near classic.

I ****ing love it BTW!!

God, I feel mean..

Also, yeah, I could see one or two of the faces on that photo but you've just outlined nothing in most of them, surely...? Like the ones which are totally black? Or is that just you being politically correct...?

there are no faces there mate...that's the thing.

Anyway, good job on the rest of it and apart from some of the songs on your list that will appeal to all generations or whatever, you obviously spent a lot of time on this doing your best, with good results.

yeah first 2 efforts failed....but Pink Floyd online and The official forum took to it.

I changed it a bit...at first it seemed a bit they are the best cos I say so...but that's were you guys the forum users came in...

and I hope you can all add to the first post by posting mad and or interesting facts, opinions and images etc, to make it even more intriguing for future readers.

and I hope you can help me perfect the best sounding 30 songs section...cos I'm sure I missed a Camel classic off!!!

btw, all art is subjective so that list of songs to appeal to all doesn't quite work, at least not with me...

can be both.
