A guy that I work with, Mike, has a Japanese girlfriend and we were sat about discussing the Simpsons a few nights ago, whilst it played in the background. Anyway, I was mentionming the fact that the Japanese haven't warmed to America's Greatest Family in the style of the rest of the globe, owing to the fact that they've got some weird problem with the fact that Homer et al have only 3 fingers and a thumb. She enlightened me slightly with regards to the fact that, within the Yakuza, if you do something wrong, you get docked a finger and because the Simpsons lack one of their digits, it strikes a negative chord in downtown Osaka. She then paused for effect and said:


"And they're yellow."



Sheer, naturalistic genius.
