Well once again as i have posted before delay is the better of the two. But i must say ur effects should be based on the time period gilmour was playin. Here are some basic stuff from time periods. And it never hurts to use some reverb from your amp.

1968-1972 = Wah, Fuzz, Delay
1973-1975= Wah, Fuzz, Delay, Univibe, Phaser. (since univibe too expensive use Mxr phase 90 as sub.)
1976-1979= Wah, Fuzz, Big Muff Pi, Flanger, Phaser, Univibe (once again phaser is a great sub.), Delay, Compressor, and if you want Chorus.

As for the after stuff, just figure it out with ear.
