Well, here's the idea:
A lot of these subjects have been covered, and questions answered. Guys like Botley have posted long, well-organized, and above all,
accurate treatise's on some pretty damn obscure stuff.
It makes it a lot harder to find those if you have to wade through twenty or thirty unanswered or inaccurate threads. Since we can't expect people to post the same thing over and over each time the subject comes up, it's better not to duplicate threads.
I'm still not clear on what is so difficult about using Search, or why people feel the need to create new threads without looking to see if it's already been done. I'd rather add to an interesting discussion than create an inane one.
Spontaneity? How about originality?
