Re: Gov't Mule

Ahh, now you're talking Fulghy.

I must admit (I know it's looked down upon around these parts) that I am quite into the jam band scene. I've had the privelage of seeing Haynes twice. Once with Phil Lesh and Friends...and once playing along with The Dead (I missed his accoustic opening set due to awful downpours that delayed our travels).

Let me make this clear to all of you kiddies:

Warren Haynes is THE hardest working person in the music business today. He fronts 3 different bands; Allman Bros, The Dead, Gov'T Mule...and will often tour with all 3 at the same time. He writes most all of his music. He can play endlessly...his endurance, is like none I've never seen. His voice, while it is the gravely type, is just as incredible. His slide playing is reminiscent of Duane Allman. I'd go as far as saying that his sound is the best out there today amoungst all guitarists in all genres.

Yes, he looks like he's been on the road for weeks without grooming....but that's because he probably has.

Ever seen the size of his hands? He's got big old bear claws with short stubby fingers. Who knows how he hits them sweet notes.

Yes, in short, I have a man-crush.

Don't even get me started on Trey Anastasio....
