Well, you're living in the past it seems. The XBOX 360, which comes out in November, is going to be far more capable than pretty much all computers for playing games. Its custom-made CPU has 3 cores (really its 6 cores with the hyper-threading technology... or SMT) with each running at 3.2 GHz... 115.2 GFLOPS of CPU performance. The custom made graphics chip is faster and more capable than any $600 chip you can buy for PC. It has a removable and upgradable 20 gigabyte hard drive. RAM is a 512MB GDDR3. 500 M/sec polygon performance and 16 G/sec pixel fill rate. I think now the XBOX 360 is pushing the PC and the other consoles forward.
