| Re: Which is more important, the music or the lyrics ? I think that we buy albums because of the music. If we want to read a poem we usually buy books. Even people who don't understand English love Pink Floyd, because of the music. Music speak for itself. It's an emotional universal language so it's definitely more important than lyrics. Tracks like The Great Gig In The Sky, A Saucerful Of Secrets, Careful With That Axe Eugene and many others don't need words. And don't overrate Roger Waters as a writer of lyrics because the world of rock has even better writers. He *was* very good but he's never been THE BEST. What makes the difference with Floyd is music. Great music.
