Why bother, really?

I mean, the whole reason I've gotten into some of the bands I really like was purely because a friend of mine who has little or no interest in Pink Floyd was really into this other stuff and told me about it.

My best friend is a huge Radiohead fan, and she's the whole reason I ever really gave them a serious listen.
The same goes for the Killers. I had been hearing so much about how they were just a shite band that I backed off from listening to them until a friend of mine played the cd one night while we were painting. I ended up really liking them. These things don't happen unless there's some diversity in music taste out there.
