Scientology is a pyramid scheme. Hubbard simply got around the leagalities by making it a religon. And to answer the critics who say it is a cult, he put it in the public eye by recruiting celebrities thereby hoping iot would be more acceptable.
Without this being an endorsement of Tom Cruise or Scientology, I can say that I finally did view the Matt Lauer bit and Tommy did have a point, but I highly doubt he came to that conclusion on his own.
Also, it makes me laugh when people who have no real understanding of theology or the role of religion on the development of societies and cultures find it humurous that people who do know can have an educated discussion on the subject. |
