In The Flesh DVD Jon Carin

I agree that Jon Carin did an amazing job with the vocals on "Dogs". He went to great pains to duplicate exactly every nuance of Dave's solo. And his voice even sounded a lot like Dave's to me; maybe just a touch "less-hoarse"(ten times better? No effen way Ho-Zay). I was impressed. And I thought it was a tribute by him to Dave. Jon and Dave are friends and have worked a lot together.

I for one, like Doyle Bramhall. So what if he dresses in the Tex-Mex style of South Texas? At least he comes by it honestly. He grew up in Austin. He knows and played with the Vaughans, Stevie Ray and Jimmy...So why shouldn't he pay tribute to them with his style? Doyle did a good job re-creating Dave's solos and tone. Who cares if he plays left-handed and strings it upside down? The results are in the sound, and he sounds good. Eric Clapton, Peter Green and Roger himself all feel Doyle is a tremendous talent. Streetpunk, I would suggest you stick with Wes Borland and Dimebag Darrell.
