Re: Worst Film/Movie ever (I am sure this is a DDT but I have searched and can't find it)

Hmmmm... worst movie ever made, and i'm gonna need a good reason...
Lets see...

THE HITCHHIKERS GUIDE TO THE GALAXY!!!

Dammit how the hell could they sully 'Adams name by placing his name on the credits to this overhyped overblown hollywooded-up piece of stinking smegma!!!
What where they THINKING!
I'm an avid Hitchhikers fan, and I DO appreciate that shrinking down the books into movie form was gonna be a tough job, but HOW IN HELL did they manage to take a series of books so blessed with genius that only an incompetent four year old could cock it up, and, well, COCK IT UP!!!
They put so many stupid unnecessary plot devices in there to try and hang it all together it ended up a mere shadow of the original incarnations of Hitchhikers.
SURELY two or three movies would have been a better option.
What would Lord of the Rings have been like shrank down into one movie? A HEAP OF SHITE thats what!
Case in point.
Now, maybe i'm being a little to much of a Hitchhiker fanboy here, but since WHEN did Zaphod have his second head hidden? Christ, would it have been too much to CG in the second head - c'mon, the Beeb pulled Zaphod off more convincingly with the classic (but crap-effect-ridden) TV show in 1982.
Also. can anybody remember Trillian EVER asking Arthur to take her to Madagascar? Nope? Me neither.
Its just minor points - but there are SO MANY minor flaws within the movie it just end up a big incoherent mess.
I will concede though - there are a couple of points in the movie where I had a wry kind of smile. The original Marvin making a cameo, and Simon Jones appearance.
To put it simply:
I love the books.
I love the radio series.
I love the TV show.
The movie BLOWS!
