I almst bought one of those today. I tried both, and didn't really like either of them. The distortion tone was much too harsh for me. For Gilmour's solos, a really good stompbox is the Boss Blues Driver! You can go from a soft - 'comfortably numb'-ish tone, all the way up to a harsh sounding tone like the middle solo from Dogs! It's really versatile. You can even turn the gain down and just use it as a clean booster too! Great Pedal. I almost spent my money on it today, but I just can't afford it right now. It was on sale at Tom Lee music for 111$
