File Format: We currently only support images of the .jpg (JPEG) format for submission.
File Size: Maximum filesize for submission to Eyefetch is 250KB (256,000 Bytes).
Image Dimensions: Maximum dimensions for any image submitted are 700 by 700 pixels - no single dimension shall exceed 700 pixels.
Photo Exposure Date: The digital photograph submitted for a contest must be taken between the start and end date of the open contest submission period. Your camera's date and time must be set correctly to your local timezone. Contest deadlines correspond to the US Eastern timezone - the current local server time is visible in the top left corner of each page. Verification of the authenticity of the exposure, and the correct date and time of exposure may be requested for any submitted entry, and must be provided by submitting the original, unmodified image from the camera containing all unaltered EXIF data. Failure to provide the file in question within 72 hours from request will result in automatic disqualification.
Please make sure to check that the date and time on your camera are set correctly before taking any pictures you may use as a contest entry.
Editing & Submission Rules
Eyefetch offers photography contests with various levels of permitted post-processing (editing). The following rules apply for 'Advanced Editing' contests:
Any modifications done inside the camera itself are considered acceptable for contest submission.
By submitting an image to a contest you grant EyeFetch the perpetual right to display the contest entry on its websites. The submitted image must represent a single photograph, taken during the contest submission period. You may not combine multiple photographs, or elements from mulitple photographs. Photographs containing multiple exposures are only allowed when stored directly within the camera into a single photograph.
A photograph may only be submitted to a single contest.
A person may only hold a single Eyefetch account and may submit only one photograph per contest. Any adjustments applied in photo editing software (or similar tools) are allowed (applied to the whole image, or selective parts), with the following exceptions: Disallowed: Use of any editing tools to duplicate, create, or move major elements of your photograph is not permitted. Disallowed: Addition of a border that contains parts of other photographs, clip arts, other artwork or any text. Disallowed: Addition of any text to the image (except copyright statements). While copyright statements are allowed, we highly discourage their use in contests, as it affects the anonymity of the entry and hence the potential outcome of the ranking of the submitted image. |
