Ok, I guess that sounded like a commercial, huh? Didn't mean to. I just thought that thing was cool, but I can delete it if asked.
Thanks for the benefit of the doubt and the kind responses, though.
I'll just say that I remember the very first moment I fell in love with Floyd...
I was in high school and I really enjoyed the music of the 70's anyway (I'm 31, so, technically, a child of the 80's), and then I was in high school and had a guitar class. My teacher said that we needed to pick a song of our choosing for our final exam. Well, everyone picked Warrant or Slayer or Bon Jovi. I was thinking of one of those 70s songs (I'm also a Zep fan too).
Well, I was ready to choose The Song Remains the Same (I wasn't that good, but I thought I was! HA!), and the girl who I had a huge crush on mentioned how much she loved "Wish You Were Here". Of COURSE, I had to choose that song. I practiced the hell out of that song and actually got an A in the class. The girl of my dreams, however, went off into the sunset with someone else. So, of course, that song now takes on some extra meaning. Oddly, enough, though, I totally emersed myself in all Pink Floyd songs (and Waters and Gilmour too). And they became my favorites for life.
I still do think of that girl, from time to time. Toni Marie. Every so often, I do wish she was here.

Ok, this was longer than it should have been.
Thanks to all who hung in there!
(oh, and, sadly, I haven't picked up a guitar in 5 years!)
