I don't see how it matters if Gilmour did in fact play much of the bass. Like someone said earlier, they all had a part. And like a true band, once in awhile one band member would go out of his "part" and help another with his "part". Doesn't mean one is better than the other, just means they were a team. And that is why (in my eyes) Pink Floyd was so great. They didn't just do "their thing" and make great music, they worked together, and figured out what was best for all.

And bout Waters playing live bass that Gilmour played in the studio, I'm sure Rog eventually learned how to play it. Maybe not everything, but for the most part. C'mon, Rog couldn't have been as terrible at playing the bass as some people here say. If he was I doubt he would've been in the band, even with his lyrics.
