There are plently of great musicians on this forum who can attest to this im sure.
And Im not taking anything away from David's playing, because he is my favorite guitar, one of the best ever if you ask me, and Roger is my favorite song writer and I think a good bass player. But if Gilmour really called Roger a bad musician, that just means hes either jealous, an idiot, or both. I mean he IS still living in denial by putting stickers sayin he was the "voice of Pink Floyd" on his new albums...dont make me laugh |
"Any decent guitar player can write a solo to a complete song"
A decent guitarist can write a solo to complete a song, but nothing less than a genious can write something like the Comf Numb solo. And one must remember that Mr. Gilmour provided the guitarwork on almost every bloody song theyve got, and thats partly what makes the damn band good.
Second, most musicians notice the fact that Mr. Waters isnt more than decent on the bass.
And as the musician i am, you can actually notice the fact that Waters isnt any good at the way he plays the bass. It doesnt look comfortable at all. It looks struggled and overconcentrated. Ah hell, i wont even continue argumenting. Its obvious. And i need to point out that the bassparts are more than good enough.
