If you watch Adrian Maben's making-of DVD, you'll hear examples of Roger singing every part in the opera... soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass, the lot. He composed practically every melody by singing the parts in his own range and then transposing them with tape speed for the demo recording.
But this isn't a debate about whether either of them are good songwriters (they both have their moments of brilliance), it's about who played bass and why.
Roger Waters is Pink Floyd's bassist, David Gilmour is its guitarist, but they both switched roles at various times.
