I would pretty much agree with the above. At the time, the mid-'60's, LSD use was in it's infancy. No one knew what long-term problems could occur. And we had idiots like Doctor Timothy Leary telling all the kids to take it as often as possible, it was good for you.

Also, as I understand, Syd had some people among his flock of hanger-ons who were, for everyone's amusement, regularly dropping acid into his drinks, food, etc. where he would unknowingly ingest it.
