Re: Animals or The Wall ?

Well, just how much of my soul do I want to bare here?????

I dearly love both albums. The first time I saw PF in concert was during the Animals tour, it was nothing short of amazing. A few years later two buddies and I cut college classes for three days to road trip our way to Detroit to see The Wall. What memories.

Suffice it to say The Wall goes much deeper than what most folks realize. Even this well informed panel we have here at the ALL PINK FLOYD FAN NETWORK cannot truly appreciate what THE WALL truly means to select group of folks.

Clinical Depression is not something easily discussed by those of us who have suffered through it at one point in our lives. The emotions, observations, paranoia, and general feeling of being disconnected from society are difficult to communicate to those who have not been afflicted. The Wall IS clinical Depression. It does not show evidence of Rog's depression, it simply is the embodyment of depression, it's absolutely brilliant.

Strangely, I find it quite uplifting. After all Pink goes through, after the delusions, the paranoia, the abuse suffered upon him by those who do not understand the condition, he still manages to struggle onward. His will to persevere still intact. He's an emotional basket case, but he moves forward.
It's inspiring.
