Some tech stuff that might help:
To check to see if name lookups work, open a DOS command prompt, and type "nslookup pinkfloydfan.net". This should return the following -
What you've done is sent a request to your DNS server & received the IP address assigned to APFFN. If the answer you get is a different IP for pinkfloydfan.net, your DNS cache is out of date. If you get an answer that says 'nonexistent domain', then either there's a problem with your DNS or APFFN is down (or its nameserver, which is much the same thing). Either way, bitch to your ISP - you wouldn't believe the number of badly configured DNS's out there.
Even if you do not get the right address, try opening the page using 'http://72.36.152.186'. If that works, you probably do have some sort of dns issue. If it doesn't work, either APFFN is down or it has been blocked by a firewall or webfilter.
There are a number of other possibilities, but too tedious to go into here. Thank you for reading, and in next week's edition, how to bypass webfilters put up by schools to protect mommy's little darlings, without using a proxy. |

*** Can't find server name for address ***.***.**.**: Non-existent domain
*** Default servers are not available
Server: UnKnown
Address: ***.***.**.**

The 'http://72.36.152.186' works because I'm using a proxy to log in again. (Its actually quite a fast proxy as well)
