"The Wall" is not a collection of singles or separate songs, it's a narrative. If you separate the pieces they don't make much sense as separate songs in themselves (except from "Comfortably Numb", "Mother", "Hey You"...). "Don't Leave Me Now" works in the context of Pinky's breakdown showing how shitty his relationship with his wife has become.
