Re: What Did You Do Today?

I sat around feeling nostalgic and homesick.

As a consequence, I've fallen behind on my packing schedule. I did manage to get rid of the paperwork/waste. Now I need to tackle the clothes and books. Following which comes the dreaded "clean up the apartment".

Blech!

Don't you know that if you are a nurse and happen to be male, you are:

1. Gay... or
2. A pervert who likes to feel people up... or
3. A combination and 1. and 2.

?

You'll always see a "female chaperone" present when a male has to do a physical exam on a female but almost never the case when it is the other way 'round. Nobody bats an eyelid when a female patient (pregnant or otherwise) refuses a "male nurse" despite the fact that the physician and/or anesthesiologist happens to be male and will be present during the procedure. There is raging debate as to "should male nurses be allowed to work OB floors" and yet how many folks question the same of "male physicians/OBs/GYNs" ? How many of you males who've hade the misfortune of being hospitalized were ever offered the choice of a male "caregiver" or were asked if it was ok with you if your caregiver was female?

I could write pages and pages on end.

cheers,
