| Re: Pink Floyd's music......weird? Dear Not Now John, When was the last time you saw a Punk Listens to Pink Floyd? and another thing, Most of those Metal heads you've mentioned, Don't even want to cover
Led zeppelin,Deep purple,Not to mention Floyd, but Who?
Offspring or something Like that...
So I wasn't Just talking about bubble Gum Pop but on the mainstream music market in general, which was never prefect, but is now in Its one of worse conditions since the turn of the previous century...
IN addition, I think the record companies had scored a goal in their Own net by encouraging the audience to return to a more single otriented Listening pattern, Rather than the album oriented aproach which dominated the market in the late 60's, 70's & 80's. IN those days, If you liked 2 songs or more, or if it were a concept album, you would simply buy the album. Today, You hear the 2 minute hit on the radio, See it on MTV, Download it from Napster and Burn it on yur CDR... even if you don't have napster, or a CDR drive, you hear the song enough on the radio & MTV and after 3 month it's all over. YOU CAN'T DO THAT WITH A GOOD ALBUM.
Because if you really like the band, you will buy the album anyway, but if you can get the singles, you won't get the album, Unless you're a hardcore fan, and there are few like these on the mainstream Crowd. A GOOD ALBUM Stays with you for years.
