| Re: Favorite Division Bell Moments "I took a heavenly ride through our silence
I knew the waiting had begun
And headed straight...into the shining sun"
You could say this song was about any relationship, whether it be about a divorce, or a falling out between two friends (something the band would all be familiar with).
Anyhow, the lyrics describe two people the broken relationship between them – one is getting on with their life; the other remains trapped in the past, unable to get over their quarrel with the other person. Taking a heavenly ride through their silence, the narrator is saying that they have accepted what has happened, and know that the time is right for moving on with their life (heading into the shining sun is a euphemism for this).
>>well, yeah that might be true but Dave is just so useless with words compared to Roger, most of his lyrics just sound like he's got something to say but he can't find a provocative way of saying it<<
David is more direct in his lyrical approach, but I would hardly say he's "useless". In the case of "Coming Back to Life" Dave has written very good lyrics. He's being direct, but not to the point where you can't put your own spin on the meaning of the song.
