Re: Pink Floyd Fan Music Recommendations

well, here are some of my faves,(besides pink floyd):

Genesis(1967-1980 era), one of the best Progressive rock bands IMHO, Great keyboards and fine guitars and bass.

The Who- Live at Leeds(1970) 25th anniversary remastered & Extended edition is awsome!
Plus Tommy is a knockout as well.

Jethro Tull - with albums like Aqualung,
Thick as a brick,Songs from the wood,
Stand up,Benefit and others this is another one of the greatest of progressive rock. and they still give awsome Live performance till today(I saw them on 2000).

Porcupine Tree - In their album "The sky Moves sideways" from 1995, they combine the style of the album "Wish you were here" and all of the styles created since, creating a beautiful album.

The Beatles - Still one of the important bands in rock history. very influential.

King Crimson - their 1st album from 1969 - "In the court of the Crimson King" is the best Debut album of a band ever recorded
and is one of the most influential albums ever.their 2nd -4th album were good too, although they didn't Measure up to the standards of the first album.

Dire Staits - one of the best bands of the late 70's and the 80's, featuring the great abilities of Lead Guitarist/Vocalist Mark Knofler.

Led Zeppelin - their 2nd and 4th albums are their bests, with songs like Stairway to heaven,Misty mountain Hop,Black Dog,Whole Lotta Love,Living Loving(She's just a woman),etc.

Cream - with Songs like "Sunshine Of you Love", "Badge","Crossroads" and a guitarist like eric Clapton, this Supergroup is a Treat...

And as for YES, I know I like their "Close to the Edge" Suite.
