First of all, the Beatles are good but overrated. Second of all Morrison was a poet, not a musician, he did little on the musical aspect of the Doors, so to say he used music to get drugs and girls is wrong, cause really the rest of the band did the music, he was the pretty boy singer. The biggest hit they had was written by Robby.
Third of all, and I say this again, pop music has some incredible gems out there, by turning a deaf ear to Bowie you only do a disservice to yourself. By the way at the time Floyd came out, they were considered pop, almost all music was, there wasn't the sub-sub-categories we have now.
