| Re: Syd Barrett's First Trip I know what you're saying. From an ethical point of view, it's lamentable that, even knowing what came of such actions, our curiousity is still the defining factor.
However, how many times have you seen the stock footage of the skinny black guy at an open air "happening" in the late 60's gesticulating like Michael J Fox (on a bad day), and thought to yourself "Jesus- that guy's really off his head"? On both occasions, there was free will involved, and as a curio piece, dating to a spectacularly embryonic and, dare I say it, naive time, it certainly has merit.
Simply because of the particular ramifications of his actions, it doesn't mean that it should be hidden or ignored, and as a voyeuristic experience relating to something of which you have personal interest, it also has a fair amount of validity.
