Yeah, Brick, the Martin was my father's. It is a wonderful guitar, except it has too-high action, which makes playing up at the 12th to 14th frets a bit uncomfortable. That's why I got the Yamaha, which (the F-310) is very inexpensive. But since I don't mess with acoustics that much, it works fine for me.

I'm not familiar with Taylor acoustics, but they appear to be wonderful instruments, from what little I've seen. I know Guild's are very high quality, and I have a friend who swears by his Ovations. I think in this day and age you are going to get a good product regardless of which brand you pick.
