Re: Fave Rick Wright work?

Rick Wright was wacked mercilessly, at birth, with the 'atmosphere stick'. His chordscapes pretty much glued the whole show together, up until the late 70s. Great songs, great singing and obviously the guitarist of doom, but all for naught without that funky organ.

Great Rick moments ?

• Great Gig In The Sky - stands on it's own as a masterpiece, and the kicker is that Roger still plays it live. Poetic.

• Cat Cruise - one wonders what may have become of this had it become part of the 'Floyd set. Still, nice performance ... and those chords ...

• Astronomy Domine (from Ummagumma) - the middle keyboard section as Mason's ride cymbal peters into silence - priceless !

• The Hammond Organ - one would have to say that he's up the with the Lords, Kayes, Booker Ts, et al. To be identified with an instrument because of the way you play is no mean feat.
