| Re: The 9 cd Shine On box set I pondered buying it as well seeing as how I'm a naughty fan and won't buy the CDs and simply burn them until I am an actual hardcore fan. So far Pink Floyd and The Beatles are the only ones worthy... ha... ha, haha!
But it really is better to just buy the entire catalouge and then buy the rare singles CD seperate on half.com or something. It comes out to a little more than 200 but it gives you more for your money. (It's a gas, you know... bah... -.-) I'm not including Echoes, Works, Pulse, or any of those other ditties... buy those later when you have an extra 15 bucks... or better yet if you're new to Floyd I highly reccomend the Echoes compilation... it really does sum up the band and gives you more than The Wall and Darkside.
So if you're looking to buy them all, go with CD by CD... and buy the rare singls seperate used, it's what I did and I am a very satisfied Floydian. The Shine On box set is only necassary if you're new, or stupid to think it's the ONLY way you can get your hands on the book and the singles CD.
