AMLOR and TDB similarities

Recently, after getting AMLOR, I realised how the two post-Waters albums are similar to each other!

1) opening instrumental
Signs Of Life and Cluster One
both begin with sound effects and keyboards and later include guitar solo.

2) second song
Learning To Fly and What Do You Want From Me?
I don't know how to describe it, they both have some fresh sound that makes me have a similar feeling from them.

3) radio song
One Slip and Take It Back
Both meant to be catchy - One Slip being really interesting, Take It Back not

4) guitar ballad
On The Turning Away and Coming Back To Life
Really similar, guitar solos and Dave singing the opening parts with only keyboard atmospheric sounds.

5) closing composition
Sorrow and High Hopes
The longest tracks on the albums, both very strong.

6) second instrumental
Terminal Frost and Marooned
various solos from the beginning to the end!

7) long slow song
Yet Another Movie and Keep Talking
No Way to explain it. Just my feeling plus that I really don't know about these two, sometimes I like them, sometimes not.

8) song with a very simple arrangement
Dogs Of War and A Great Day For Freedom
I never really liked them - the basic musical theme is good, but DOW has an awful arrangement (some synth and strange saxophone) and also AGDFF is just piano/singing->guitar solo.

I have no opposite for A New Machine because no funny "experiment" appeared on TDB.
Also, no opposites for Wearing The Inside Out (no Rick's sogn on AMLOR), Poles Apart (no such sophisticated and strange song on AMLOR) and Lost For Words (no relaxed (bar the lyrics) acoustic guitar based song on AMLOR).

Hope many people will disagree with me and a few will agree.
