you probably know where ive been...

Hi all, just a quick hello to introduce myself.....

34 year old scottish guy, divide my time between sunny scotland and sunny amsterdam.. sort of stumbled across this site and reckoned i'd join and see what the banter was.

floyd history? hmm introduced to them about the age of twelve, buggered off to germany to see the wall live at 15 and got my ass kicked when i got back home, since then seen roger live god knowns how many times and david live probably about the same. unfortunately only seen the guys together at live8 and im not afraid to admit i did actually weep at one point..
love watching tribute acts as well, the australian pink floyd were a huge disappointment, macfloyd on the other hand were a revelation

i'll not be the biggest poster in the world, but look forward to meeting (is that the right word?) like minded folks from across the globe.

take it easy one and all, and shine on.

peace

Welcome to APFFN, Zee! While we were offline for awhile, the site is back and has some great new features, like the capability of posting Youtube videos.

Anyway, it's good to have you, and here's the obligatory Rules & Guidelines link.

Indeed, welcome!

Good to have a hard-core, knowledgeable fan on the boards. Enjoy poking around, and watch out for chaps with "Bride" in their name...

Make sure to keep all the doors locked, and hide your possessions. The southeast part of the site has a high crime rate but you ought to be safe in the more northern areas.

thanks for the welcome one and all!

todays quote is brought to you from the dampkring2 coffee shop (formerly pink floyd of course) on the haarlemmerstraat in beautiful amsterdam. It used to be the best place to visit to kick back and meet like minded people but these days alas it has changed. still, good memories, and i have most of the artwork from their walls at home mwahahahahahahaah

Re: you probably know where ive been...

WHAT!!!! Are you telling me the famous Pink Floyd café is no more? No!!!

It would be my first stop once I'd got checked into an hotel and found something to eat.

Dammit! Now where am I going to spend hours doing nothing but listening to Pink Floyd and getting off my heads?

Hang on...so shocked was I to hear of the PF Café's demise I failed to read the remainder of your previous post.

You're saying you have most of the café's PF artwork in your home? Now? Today?

Then, sir, I shall take up your generous offer when next I am lucky enough to be in my favourite city in Europe...maybe less so now my favourite spot is no more.

And, although you may be very attractive - or we're having dialectic difficulties - I would prefer to get off my head there than "nutted" (which in my Comptonian parlance means something altogether different and X-rated). Plus, I am already spoken for.

DAMMIT!!! No Syd, no Rick and now, no more PF Café, Amsterdam.

Re: you probably know where ive been...

indeed sir.

i was in the (privileged?) position of when it was being taken over by the owners of the dampkring of 'helping' them when it was being sorted out.. so the 'PF' from above the window and 2 gerald scarfe esque pictures are now mine. 3 stools now sit in my kitchen as well. yes, i am a klepto.

i can categorically say that in your parlance i certainly wont personally get you nutted (!) but off your head might be a better term!

Re: you probably know where ive been...

Whew! That's a relief. I hope you're still there when next I visit, because you've not yet seen klepto.
