Empty Handed Lightning Bearer

Tonight after work I went to the diner for coffee and I wrote this. It has been revised a little bit.

The Empty Handed Lightning Bearer

I fell onto the rocks of regression.
A pelican remembered me and asked me where my father was.
He was wearing feathered clothes, webs between his withered toes, complimentary cowboy hat, and a watch (I gave him that).

"You are living free, bring my father down to me!"

The bird blew a silver horn,
a devil came up on the shore.
The devil's only head read the name of my father.
Then I threw a coin to determine the truth.
My father's head landed as the face of a dime.
I knew then that old pelican was not lying.

As a rule, I forgot the prophecies shown to me,
so the pelican ascended and reset me with a tree.
The fruits that I picked were riddled with visions;
visions of time escaped and escaping.
Meanings were hidden, so glasses assisted.
I read my piece of time around my wrist.

The tree showed me this:
"Another ring around the globe,
a glove of sterile screaming love,
a loaf of leavened Easter bread,
a diadem upon the head"

I told these prophecies to the leader of my tribe.
He in charge, being me, forgot immediately, but the back of my mind held the secrets of time.
So when my head exploded, taking out the frontal lobe, authorities examined my subconscious overload.

Some pieces were missing.
Some documents failed to read properly: pelican landing and vacuous tree.
Some stories allowed the lookers seen things, accepted.
Of course, knowing these, the eyes of one chose to deny this Golden Horse looking on from the balcony above me.
(The horse holds the rain,
his rider the thunder, and I,
the lightning bearer, hold nothing.)

Empty handed I abandoned such a scene so frustrating.
Curiosity had bested me and those standing.
The Pelican delivered to my door a dead baby.
He let me shut the floor with a large metal lever.
He told me, "Scold the whore whose midnight birth upset the Lord.
The child died while riding down from heaven into hell."
The crying had subsided when the stork rang my bell.

Even though the Lord killed the new delivery, I accept responsibility for handling the body.
Lady came crying for a bundle or a gift, so I prayed by my power to allow her only wish.

What I should say to baby-less lady,
"Get out of town while you have a chance,
the dozers are bowling us over for change.
Fortunately Junior Savior faced his painless death already.
Fortunately you can leave again empty handed."

I told her, "I was told before about the baby God aborted
for the best of interest", then I cast my lightning as
she ate the only stars left over after my friend,
the Pelican, destroyed them.
