I'm listening to a RoIO of Phish covering DSOTM now. They do a pretty good job at it too.

Re: bands that do good covers

A good cover for my is when the band adds it stlye to it. Yes its a cover, but you can still tell what band is doing it. I went to a LIVE concert bout 2 months back and they did some excellent covers. They were emotional because of Sept 11 and Geogre Harrison's death. But you could still tell it was them. I like it when Pearl Jam do covers and i heard Incubus are evry clever as well.

Re: bands that do good covers

every once and a while they would do a cover, they didnt do one for every show. another good cover ive heard is The String Cheese Incident doing Tom Sawyer (rush) that was pretty cool cuz like Pedge said, they put their own style into it. same with walk this way by string cheese, they turned it into a bluegrass-ish song. its great

Re: bands that do good covers

I've heard somewhere that Phish covered the White Album in its entirety. I'm not Phish fanatic, so I have no idea if this is true or not. Would someone be able to tell me?

Re: bands that do good covers

Dream Theater, when they do covers, do them really well. "The Big Medley" from Change of Seasons is awesome, and starts off with "In The Flesh?".

Dream Theater does a pretty good cover on Hey You and also Big Medley which they indeed start off with In The Flesh?....really good...the Primus cover of Have A Cigar isn't good at all..Pearl Jam does a few good covers if I recall correctly.

Re: bands that do good covers

The Metallia covers during 'Ride The Lightning' and after Cliff's death are f***ing great. I mean, 'Am I Evil?', how f***ing brilliant is that??

Cheers,

Mark
