In the Billboard magazine issue that goes on sale that day, Pink Floyd's progressive-rock album, ''Dark Side of the Moon,'' will have appeared on the magazine's top- 200 album chart for 520 weeks. That divides neatly into 10 years. A full decade!

........only someone writing for the NY Times would call the band that invented space rock a prog-rock band

Pink Floyd did not "invent space rock" or "prog rock". Those are both just terms coined by media type people in order to categorize what they think they hear.
