LOL, you caught that too? I think Roger was the one who played "the ass." (I'm kidding so all you extremists, please don't come to my house with rabid weasels and machine guns)

Well...all I shall say is that if you look at my name, you will understand why I REALLY take issue with certain offstage behaviour by Mr. Waters. To attack another person and deliberately try to tear them down is almost inhuman!!!

FloydWright, are you referring to the "deliberate tearing down" of Mr. Waters by myself, or the problems between the Floydians themselves?

No, no...I didn't mean for it to come off that way--I meant nothing of the sort!

I meant Mr. Waters' deliberate tearing down of my favourite Floydian.

From Rock Compact Disk Mag 1992

Was Roger an effective bassist back then?
'He had developed his own limited, or very simple style. He
was never very keen on improving himself as a bass player and
half the time I would play bass on the records because I would
tend to do it quicker. Right back to those early records; I mean,
at least half the bass on all recorded output is me anyway.'
This is not a widely acknowledged fact.
'Well, I think it's been said, but it's certainly not something
we go around advertising. Rog used to come in and say, "Thank
you very much" to me once in a while for winning him bass-playing polls.
Did you play the fretless bass on "Hey You"?
'Yeah. Hmm. Roger playing fretless bass? Please! (laughs)'

There ya go...I think that's what everyone has been talking about.

Who, Mr. Waters?

Of course, being out of the band for all these years has probably forced some improvement, so what you'll see is probably better than the early days, I would think.

Thanks to Driven for coming up with the Gilmour interview on which I based my response!

I think Roger has had to build a sort of tough skin because of the job he has to do. I mean how many of us have been rock stars as popular and successful as Pink Floyd. The buisness changes people and you have to be hard to make it.

Shine on you crazy diamonds.

terminalfrost said that Dave played ass for roughly half the albums. I know he plays the fretless bass but HALF? Name them and where did you get the information from?
How do you play the ass?
