Drug Songs

Yes, I know, drugs are bad. But a lot of good songs have been made about them. I'm trying to make a good mix CD with all songs about drugs. Whether they be pro-drug or anti-drug, or merely an observation, I'm game. Here's some I've got so far

Eric Clapton - Cocaine
The Velvet Underground - Heroin
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Needle and the Spoon
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Black Sabbath - Fairies Wear Boots
Alice in Chains - Junkhead
Nirvana - Anuerysm

Ok, give me some more.

Guns 'n' Roses - Welcome to the Jungle

I think that's a drug song, got plenty of references in there.

Well,

Get By With a Little Help From My Friends, by The Beatles.
Needle and the Damage Done, by Neil Young.
Rockin in the Free World, another Neil Young one about heroin.

I'll add more later.

White rabbit: Jefferson Airplane.
Lucy in the sky with diamonds: Beatles

I think calling Master of Puppets a drug song is a bit of a stretch...

Re: Drug Songs

Many may disagree with me here, but "High Hopes" to me, totally represents marijuana, I mean "The lights were brighter...the taste was sweeter", what else CAN it mean?!

Wow, finally someone else who knows Young. That whole album is great, as is After the Goldrush.

Also, I'm pretty sure Sublime's "Smoke Two Jonts" has got to be in there somewhere, right??

I think he was talking about a different time, when things were better...

"beyond the horizon of the place we lived when we were young"
