Live 1970 Pink Floyd Does anyone know if Paint Box was ever performed live? I love that song! If you could recommed something unofficial also, just wondering what had excellent performances from this time period? I'd appreciate any ideas. I've never heard It Would Be So Nice but it sounds like a great song.

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd There is this live performance that PF did in 1970 (I believe it was on April 30th) for KQED TV in San Francisco. Its got some of the songs you mentioned, plus others: Atom Heart Mother, Cymbaline, Grantchester Meadows, Green is the Colour, Careful with that axe Eugene, Set the controls for the heart of the sun. I downloaded it some ages ago, I don't remember where I got it but it's available on pretty much every torrent sites I've seen. It's really a great performance of the band

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd Ok, thanks I'll look for it. I found one that is called Live in Stuttgart 1970. Someone told me that that is as good a performance from Pink Floyd that you will ever find. I don't really know, but it has some of the songs I was looking for. I think I prefer the live version of Atom Heart Mother as compared to the studio album. The live version I have is only 14 minutes or so though. It sounds great but I can't compare it to the San Fransisco one. I was really surprised how different Interstellar Overdrive sounds live. It's seems less chaotic and more ambient, much smoother. I really liked it!

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd You're not going to find Rain In The Country or Paintbox, because as far as I know, they were never preformed live. It Would Be So Nice was, but I've never seen a copy. For Grantchester Meadows you'll need a 69 show and Let There Be More Light was preformed in 68.

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd They never really got "Let There Be More Light" to sound quite good enough live, IMO. The duet-versions of "Grantchester Meadows" with Roger and David on acoustic guitars are quite spectacular, on the other hand.

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd The best version of LTBML is the Top Gear version, hands down.

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd Well, yes, but most of those early BBC sessions aren't really live but created in the studio to sound that way (the incomparable 70/71 Peel sessions are the exception).

Re: Live 1970 Pink Floyd Hey.....don't crush my dreams. I have like three live versions of it and the sound isn't very good, so I'm still going with the Top Gear version.
