that's my opinion...

that was simply my opinion. I, as much as you understand that Pink Floyd is more about music than just about anything else. No grudges, and of course no problem with what you wrote. And apart from that, don't you think that Syd Barret deserves a bit more of a simpler approach than that which self-destructing rock stars deserve?(pick any...there's plenty, Morisson?Jagger? etc)

I apologize if my comment on your point of view abour Syd read a bit like a rant...

Re: SYD STORY

Apology accepted.. no grudges

I don't however understand what you mean by "doesn't syd deserve a simpler approach"
Trust me, I'm a big fan but let's face the facts... he self destructed, he's not dead but he never became what he could have been. Of all the facts about self destructing rock stars this story reminds me.. at least, mostly of Syd, above anyone else..

cheers

...it would be just hillarious to concider Pink Floytd and Syd Barret in this case included in this endless list of self destructive images...because at that time Pink Floyd were considered to be a cult band with a limited audience and fans and not another "hits band" - a truly experimental act, nothing more, nothing less, they vannot be regarded as a bunch of blokes who had tried almost everything from pot to benzine(heheh) and wrote a few chords etc etc...simply Pink Floyd is NOT about sex, drugs and rockn'roll, even during Syd's stay. I would understand this approach if you were writting something abour Morrison and not abour Barret. there's more into Barret than just little fairies runnign in a forest and including flowers in one's diet...

Simply Syd was...Syd, and that's even more perfect...

The way the pop media especially approach nowadays Pink Floyd is so funny...and I am happy they never included "See Emily Play" in those shitty "Flower-Power" collections etc...because there was sarcasm, and a deeper approach into society, not a colection of shitty flowers to the people abstracts (I hate woodstock)

Oh and by the way...Gerald The Mouse..you go %$#^# yourself. Thanks!

Re: SYD STORY

You might notice that the person in this story is not a memeber of a huge band but a cultish one, much like Pink Floyd. Secondly where the hell does the story mention little fairies running in the garden? Thirdly... this is the story of one evening not me trying to retell the false story of syd's whole life.

Fourthly, you have to face the facts that Syd did in fact self destruct. Maybe the rest of Pink Floyd weren't about drugs but Syd was.. simple... Syd was a wonderful person we all know that but you also can't over complicate him.

once more the story is NOT about Syd... I repeat NOT ABOUT SYD...

cheers

Probably something similar to *@#()(*&ing, !&@%&+_&ing, or diving for Swedish meatballs off the coast of New Zealand.
