The most overrated Pink Floyd songs:

Another Brick in The Wall Part 2 (Part 1 is alot better), but I'm sick of this being the ONLY song non-Floydians actually know.

Money is overrated. My least favourite song on Dark Side.

Underrated: Green is the Colour, on More.

Probably one of the better songs on that album.

Surely PF's music is almost never labelled 'overrated' by myself nowadays (even ABITW PT.2 is a good way for someone to get into Floyd, I think... worked for me).

But there is the problem of hearing a record too godamn much, such as myself and DSOTM. While I love that record and bow at its greatness, I have since tired of putting it on and knowing what exactly is coming up, how long it lasts, getting annoyed by that little riff, etc. I haven't listened to DSOTM in a while, and more often than not would rather stick on OBC or some Syd Barrett or even Avril Lavigne (in certain situations).

I dunno, I guess I dig fresh music. But I don't knock DSOTM because I tired of listening to it (the same has happened with Radiohead's OK Computer and David Bowie's Ziggy Stardust). I, instead, remember the record in question and reminisce (sic.) on how good it is... and listen to it sometimes and bask in memories. Good stuff, that is. Can't take away from a really good record.

I'm babbling. Stop me!

I totally agree w/ you. I can anticipate every song, every note, and every word to Dark Side. There is no more surprise to it.

Does anyone else like "Lost For Words"? I think it's a fabulous thing, especially that solo at the end. It's incredibly mood-provoking. (although I'll readily admit the lyrics are pretty bad)

As for other underrated songs...

"Let There Be More Light" is a cool song. I love Roger's singing.
I'll also second whoever said "Is There Anybody Out There?". The picking that appears at about 2:02 in the song (it only goes through that certain assortion of notes twice) is heavenly. I like turning it up on the ol' stereo and closing my eyes. Also, I hate to be a sucker for 80s pop, but "One Slip" is pretty catchy. Bravo, Mr. Gilmour.
